DHAKA: Authorities have added 15 new SDU (step down unit) beds to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment of rising number of dengue patients.
DMCH Director Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin confirmed the matter to media Monday (August 5).
Only dengue patients will be treated in SDU beds installed in the new building's third floor. They will be given treatment in the SDUs of old buildings too, he said.
In last 24 hours in DMCH, two dengue patients have died and 183 admitted, added Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin.
The total number of dengue patients at DMCH has reached 570.
