DHAKA: Another person died of dengue fever at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday (August 15) morning.
With this, a total of 27 people have died of dengue fever at DMCH in three months.
The victim Mousumi Akter, 25 was a garment worker by profession. She breathed her last around 11:30am while being shifted to ICU of DMCH emergency department.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mousumi who resided in Taltola area of Agargaon in the capital city with her family and hailed from Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur was admitted at National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), known as “TB Hospital”, said victim’s husband Md Mamun.
Later on Thursday, she was taken to Suhrawardi Medical College Hospital and then taken to DMCH.
Nasiruddin, assistant director of DMCH, told Banglanews that with the death of Mousumi, 27 dengue patients have died at our hospital over the last three months (from June to till date).
Some 131 patients were admitted at the hospital in last 24 hours. A total of 601 patients suffering from dengue have been undergoing treatment at the hospital so far, said the Assistant Director.
