DHAKA: JKG Health Care, a non-government healthcare organisation, has set up coronavirus testing booths in different areas of the capital and outside Dhaka to ease the suffering with diagnosis.
JKG Healthcare Staff Project Development Wing chief Sayeed Chowdhury confirmed the matter through a press release on Friday (May 8).
The release said JKG Health Care started working in 2015 as a non-profit organization to provide free treatment in remote areas of the country. This time, in response to the urge of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, it decided to participate directly in the prevention of the coronavirus.
Many people do not want to contact the health center even after the symptoms appear. Therefore, in order to make the treatment of these patients uninterrupted, it decided to set up testing booths for the patients away from the hospital. This will help patients go to the hospital without fear and medical service providers get less affected.
The organisation set up coronavirus testing booths in several areas of Dhaka including Narayanganj. The testing activities run from 11 am to 2 pm daily except Friday.
The booths approved by the Ministry of Health are: Narayanganj Government High School, MW School and College, Siddirganj of Narayanganj. The booths in the capital are Karail Basti, Sabujbagh Adarsha Girls College, Khilgaon Girls School and Rajarbagh Police Line.
Besides, some booths will be set up in city’s Uttara Sector 6 and Sector 13, Badda, Gulshan-2 (for foreign diplomats) and Gulshan-2 (foreign nationals).
