DHAKA: Bangladesh confirmed the highest single-day fatality on Tuesday (June 30) as 64 more died from coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,783.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 3,682 people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 1,45,483.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of DGHS, came up with the information in an online regular health bulletin about the latest corona situation in the country.
As 1,844 patients recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recovery reached 59,624, she also said.
In the last 24 hours, 65 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 18,426 samples, Dr Nasima Sultana added.
Bangladesh reported its first croronaviurs case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
