DHAKA: The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) is positive about the ‘G-Rapid Dot Blot’ kit developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra to test Covid-19 infection, said coordinator of the kit project.
Dr Muhib Ullah Khondokar, coordinator of Gonoshasthaya Kendra’s Covid-19 ‘G-Rapid Dot Blot’ kit, said it to Banglanews after holding a meeting with DGDA officials in Dhaka on Sunday noon (July 5).
He said: “DGDA asked us to submit another report after conducting external verification of the kit. They are very positive about the kit and assured us of quick approval of the kit. We are very hopeful too.”
All the team members who developed the kit went to the DGDA office around 12pm, he said, adding: “However, Chief Scientist Bijon Kumar Sil, Dr Nihad Adnan and myself attended the meeting with drug officials.”
Earlier on Saturday (July 4), Gonoshasthaya Kendra issued a press release about Sunday’s meeting. The release said Gonoshasthaya will manufacture 5,000 antibodies for people within 15 days after DGDA gives approval to their kit.
