DHAKA: The government has made face coverings as a mandatory safety measure for everyone amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Directorate General of Health Services under Health Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday (July 21).
In the circular, law enforcement agencies were directed to ensure that people wear masks while going outdoor places, using public transports or attending offices.
According to the circular guidelines, all employees and officials of government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices and also their service receivers must wear face coverings.
From now on, face mask is mandatory to attend all educational and religious institutions, as well as local market places and shopping malls.
Public transport users, garment workers, rickshaw-pullers, and hawkers will have to wear face coverings also. Hotel and restaurant workers will have to ensure that guests are wearing masks, said the circular.
