Bangladesh on Thursday confirmed 39 more deaths from coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 3,306.
According to the Health authorities, 2,977 people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 2,49,651.
Prof Dr Baizid Khoorshid Riaz, director of National Institute of Preventive & Social Medicine (NIPSOM), revealed the latest figures in the daily online bulletin of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on the COVID-19 situation on Thursday afternoon.
As 2,074 patients recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recovery reached 1,43,824, he also said.
In the last 24 hours, some 12,708 samples were tested in coronavirus testing laboratories across the country, Dr Baizid added.
Bangladesh reported its first croronaviurs case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
