Christmas dinners are always a special time with friends and family, when most folks out do themselves while preparing tasty spreads.
But if you want it to be truly a cheerful affair that reflects the spirit of Christmas, make sure you take care of the little details that will really spread the festive cheer, and make sure your guests linger around long after the Christmas lunch is done!
Colours
The theme here is of course Christmas, and the colours red, green and white. Be sure to pick a cheerful red table cloth, as this completely lays the foundation for your Christmas lunch or dinner. And while a plain red tablecloth could work, you could always use table cloths with various Christmas motifs to make it apt for the occasion.
Cutlery
When your dinner table cutlery emphasizes the fact that it is Christmas, it`s going to make your guests feel extra special. A combination of red and white plates could look amazing and Christmasy. You could also keep small red white and green napkins to go with the theme. You can also use Christmas baubles from the Christmas tree to decorate.
Seating
The old adage, `The more the merrier` is apt for Christmas! So, if you are expecting a bigger company, be sure to have a big enough table. If there are space constraints, you can always do a buffet. But if you have a lawn, it is best to lay the table there so that everyone enjoy an intimate, family meal.
Centerpiece
If you have space enough on your table, you can always make a cheerful Christmas centerpiece. You don`t have to buy one as you can easily make it yourself. Get a low vase and fill it with holly branches, berries, ivy and other greenery. You can deck it up with Christmas baubles and candles. Also, you can use candles and glitter to make it look more festive.
