While TV commercials and magazines may compete with each other to grab your attention about assorted beauty products, healthy and glowing skin doesn't just come from creams, gels and lotions. A healthy lifestyle is as important when it comes to healthy skin. Here are some simple rules that you should follow...
Just as your body needs water to function, you skin also needs water to stay hydrated. When you don't drink enough water, your skin will pay a high price for it. Not only does water flush out harmful toxins from your body, but it also contains minerals like potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc that brings a glow to your skin. Always keep a bottle near you and make it a habit to keep sipping water throughout the day.
Think you can erase the effects of late nights by sleeping extra on the weekend? You couldn't be more mistaken. Lack of sleep can cause your skin to age prematurely and causes fine lines and wrinkles. Ensure that you sleep seven to eight hours every night.
Don't leave exfoliation just for the parlour. Your skin needs to get rid of dead skin cells on a regular basis. You could either make your own exfoliation paste at home (sugar and milk work great) or you could buy an exfoliator for your face and body. Don't go over-board though. Twice a week is enough.
One of the most effective ways to achieve healthy skin is to make sure you exercise regularly. When you work out, it increases blood flow, which in turn carries more oxygen to your skin. And when you work up a sweat, your skin releases toxins that can otherwise clog your pores and cause acne.
