You might be perfect for the job, but committing these mistakes during the interview might work against you.
- Avoiding eye contact Making eye contact with your interviewer is important to build trust and confidence in them. One of the most common blunders, it displays lack of confidence and honesty. Speaking to oneself while looking at your own eyes in the mirror is a good way to practise.
- Staying uninformed Being ill-prepared could earn you some negative points. You need to know details about the company you are going for an interview to. In addition to this, asking more about the company and its policies might show that you have an interest in the company and the job profile. Don't go overboard, though.
- Bitching about your old colleagues and job This doesn't throw a bad light on the company, but on you. Being diplomatic about such things is always the best way out.
- Staying inattentive Paying attention to the interviewer is important. Employers gauge candidates based on this and being a good listener always helps.
- Staying vague Being uncertain and vague in your responses shows badly on you. Being specific and verifying the same with instances helps you nail the interview and gain the employer's trust.
