DHAKA: This week’s beauty tip is on ‘Faux Bob’. Take your makeup box and try…
Faux Bob
Fake it til you make it! Whether you’re considering a bob, or want to dabble in the short hairstyle trend for a night, we’re considering the gorgeous faux version English actress Ashley Madekwe wore to be training wheels for both categories.
‘My inspiration for her hair was the ‘60s. I wanted to give Ashley a mod kind of look, so I decided to put it up into a chic bobbed style,’ said her hairstylist Anh Co Tran, reports InStyle.
‘We were going for something a little futuristic, too, while keeping it clean and simple.’
Starting with clean, blown-out strands, Tran took individual sections and spritzed on a texturizer by Oribe for hold, and to impart a lived-in effect.
He then back-combed individual areas, beginning at the nape of Madekwe’s neck and working toward the crown.
Once he smoothed over the backcombed area with an un-teased portion of hair, Tran rolled the star’s ends into a big barrel curl.
‘Keep in mind that the curl will sit right below the crown, and above the neck,’ he added.
‘I took a few strong bobby pins, and crossed them so that the barrel curl held in place. I then spread out the curl a little, and misted it with a hairspray for hold.’
A few backcombed areas near the front added extra volume, and any loose hair was pinned back.
‘For the bang area, I swept it to the side and applied hairspray,’ said Tran.
‘It was really just a gentle sweep.’
