A Dhaka court on Tuesday (December 10) placed one Mamun to one day remand in a case lodged over the murder of his mother Banu in the capital's Jatrabari area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Ahammed passed the order.
Earlier today, police produced Mamun, 30, before the court and pleaded to place him on a five-day remand in the case.
Mamun's cousin Kamal Hossain filed the case on August 29 for killing his aunt and police arrested the accused on the same day.
According to the case documents, Mamun used to fight with his mother on regular occasions. He allegedly beat his mother badly on August 27, leaving her seriously injured.
Later, he also threw his mother out of the house, forcing her to spend the night on the street. Neighbors found Banu dead the next day.
