DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday firmly criticized the government’s autocratic actions against BNP called ‘March for Democracy’ rally.
He also expressed deep concern over the people’s sufferings across the country.
The senior leader of the party came up with the assertions in a statement in the afternoon.
In the statement, he said: “The Awami League government is on fascist mood by baring people to join in the peaceful rally ‘March for Democracy’ at city’s Nayapaltan on Sunday.”
He added: “They deployed law enforcing agencies to put bar on lakhs of people desired to participate in Nayapaltan programme by blocking rail, river route and all sorts of vehicular activisms throughout the country.”
Besides, Fakhrul criticized the repression on opposition leaders and activities by so called raid and also torturing general people as hammering on houses, student dorms, restaurants, residential hotels.
He also asked human rights activists and organizations to keep eyes on the dreadful issues.
