DHAKA: Eight platoons of police members were deployed in front of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s residence due to security reason on Sunday morning.
Two platoons more police men were scheduled to be deployed in the area at around 9:00am. Mentionable numbers of female police were deployed in front of Khaleda Zia’s residence.
Meanwhile, high officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police of Gulshan circle were seen taking position in the area.
Gulshan Thana Officer-in-Charge Noor-e-Alam told banglanews, “Police took the position in the area to ensure security of BNP Chairperson’s residence centering 18-party’s program ‘March for democracy’ towards Dhaka.”
Besides, two striking forces were seen patrolling in the area.
On Saturday night, the protocol, provided to BNP Chairperson as the leader of opposition, was withdrawn.
Earlier, a team of pro-BNP journalists met the opposition leader Khaleda Zia when she expressed her determination that by hook or crook she would join in the mass rally.
