Khaleda’s effigy burnt at press club

DHAKA: An effigy of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was burnt in front of the National Press Club on Tuesday morning protesting her threat to wipe out the name of Gopalganj district.

Mohila Awami League (South) leaders-activists burnt the effigy after forming a human chain in protest against her remark on December 29, reported banglanews correspondent.

During the time, activists of Mohila Awami League (South) gave slogans against Khaleda Zia and alleged that the BNP chief, with the help of Jamaat-Shibir, wanted the country to be identified as a terrorist state. They termed Khaleda the collaborator of Pakistan.

They also urged the former Prime Minister to seek apology for her slanderous comment.

Acting general secretary of Mohila Awami League Pinu Khan, vice-president of Mohila League (South) Farhan Joly, organizing Secretary Shirin Punam, joint general secretary Ayesha Mokarram and Jahanara Begum MP and among others, joined in the human chain.
