Shibir breaks out procession in city, 4 held

DHAKA: Activists of Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islam, brought out procession protesting death of a Shibir leader Mansur, in capital’s Dayaganj, Uttara, Swamibagh and Laxmibazar area on Tuesday morning.

Witnesses said that Shibir men blasted several cocktails from the processions in the areas during the procession.

On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control and held four Shibir activists from Swamibagh and Laxmibazar area.

However, Central Chhatra Shibir staged a demonstration across the country protesting the killing of Shibir leader Mansur.

Mansur was shot dead by police when they brought out procession on Sunday for 18-party called ‘March for Democracy’ programme.
