DHAKA: Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque Thursday said that BNP urged intervention of speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury to restore the protocol of opposition leader, also BNP chairperson Khaldea Zia.
“During the meeting with the house speaker, we expressed our concern about the withdrawal of the protocol and sought her intervention to restore the facilities,” Farroque said.
He came up with the assertion while addressing a press briefing at Media Center of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after meeting with the house speaker.
The opposition chief whip said that a memorandum was handed over to the speaker expressing concern over BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s confinement to her house and seeking her intervention to get back the protocol and withdrawal of police cordon.
And the Speaker assured us that necessary steps will be taken after talking home ministry.
Ashraf Uddin Nizan, Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia, Nilofar Chowdhury Moni, Rehana Aktar Ranu, Harunur Rashid, Nazimuddin Ahmed and Rasheda Begum Hira were in the delegation of BNP parliamentary party.
