DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Friday categorically said that the country`s people want to join election and no one can foil the national election scheduled for January 5.
He said, "The election would surely be held on January 5 in Bangladesh in a free, fair and neutral manner according to the constitution and no one can thwart the polls".
Muhith came up with the assertion while visiting the construction work of the bridge across Surma River at Kazirbazar in Sylhet.
"The 11th parliamentary polls can be held any time if an agreement is reached with the opposition after the formation of a new government following the election of Jan 5", he said.
Later he visited reconstruction work Sylhet MC College hostel, Martyr`s Monument, Shahporan General Hospital and Airpot- Badaghat bypass road.
