8 polling centres torched in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA: Miscreants torched some eight polling centres in the district a day before the 10th parliamentary elections.

The incidents took place around 11.00pm Friday to 1:00pm on Saturday.

The tainted polling centres are Tindaho Primary School and Bangabandhu Girls’ High School of Sadar upazila, Moheshpur Primary School, Bishramgachhi Primary School, Durgapur Primary School, Baro Gobindapur Primary School, Narayanpur Primary school, Sultanpur Primary School and Shovaganj Girls’ High School under Suderganj upazila.

Local sources said, among the scalded institutions, Bishramgachhi Primary School was mostly smashed as all of the furnishers and teaching materials were burnt.

Palashbari Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Quamrul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
