DHAKA: Terming the 10th national poll as farcical, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday said the illegal government would not last long.
Khaleda Zia, also former prime minister, made the observation in a statement issued on Monday evening, hours after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s press conference.
The BNP chief said, “The people rejected the farcical polls and the autocratic attempts have already proved that it is unfeasible to hold a free, fair and credible election without the caretaker government.”
Khaleda also called upon the government to reach consensus for holding free, fair and credible elections under neutral government.
