DHAKA: A Dhaka court rejected the remand plea for seven top BNP leaders including of standing committee member barrister Moudud Ahmed in cases for killing a sub-inspector of police during May 5 violence in last year.
The court on Thursday also rejected the bail plea of the BNP leaders and ordered to quiz them at the jail gate, if necessary.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mizanur Rahman and Amit Kumer passed the order after hearing when police produced them with 10-day remand plea for Sadek Hossain Khoka and 27-day remand plea for other top leaders.
The leaders are BNP Standing Committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, MK Anwar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, joint secretary general Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokan, chairperson’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo, special assistant
Advocate Shahmsur Rahman and city BNP convener Sadek Hossian Khoka.
