DHAKA: Rawshan Ershad, leader of the Jatiya Party parliamentary party (JPPP), urged BNP to stop enforcing hartal and blockade in the country.
She came up with the plea after taking oath as a member of parliament along with 31 elected JP leaders on Thursday noon.
Later, she was elected as the leader of JP parliamentary party.
She also urged BNP to come forward to the path of peace through an effective dialogue.
According to the constitution, the elected candidates of JP took oath as member of the 10th parliament administered by the speaker of the 9th parliament Dr Shirin Sharmeen Chaudhury.
However, party chairman HM Ershad did not take oath as he is undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
