DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad is set to take oath as a member of parliament (MP) within Saturday.
The newly elected MP and JP Presidium member Anisul Islam Mahmud came up with the declaration while answering the queries of the journalists after taking oath at the national parliament on Thursday.
He said we took part in the 10th national polls with the guidance of party chief HM Ershad and we are now the main opposition party of the country.
BNP should stop creating violence and come to the path of peace to overcome the ongoing political crises, he added.
Moreover, earlier on Thursday morning Rowshan Ershad along with 31 elected JP men has taken oath by the speaker of ninth Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury according to the constitution.
HM Ershad could not join the oath ceremony as he is under treatment in Combined Military Hospital.
