DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday declared that ordinary Bangladeshis have not accepted the new government.
The spokesperson made the claim while talking to journalists after placing floral wreaths at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
He said: “The government lack`s acceptance because it assumed power through farcical elections."
Criticizing recent remarks made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, “The premier has been lying about Khaleda Zia. Her accusations are false, baseless, fabricated and politically motivated.”
Fakhrul along with others party leaders placed the wreaths to mark the release of BNP leader Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia.
