BCL leader Delwar on 9-day remand

RAJSHAHI: A Rajshahi court on Sunday placed Delwar Hossain, Vice-President of Chhatra League Rajshahi University unit, on a 9-day remand in four cases filed for creating violence on the university campus.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sharmin Sultana passed the order after a hearing on the cases in the noon.

Earlier, Sub-Inspectors of Motihar Thana Momen Sarker and Oli Uddin Akbar produced him before the court with seven-day remand plea for each case.

On February 5, he was arrested from Bheripara area of the city by Motihar Thana police for his alleged involvement in vandalizing, attacking on students and creating violence on the campus.

Later on, the authorities concerned of the university and police filed four cases against him in this connection.

Officer-in-Charge of Motihar Thana GM Shamsun Noor confirmed the matter to banglanews.
