DHAKA: BNP and Jamaat have become united to make Bangladesh a Taliban state. Pakistan’s notorious army intelligence ISI has been carrying on secret exercises on behalf of BNP-Jamaat to make our country unstable.
Even in collusion with ISI, Jamaat sent their 10,000 cadares to Afganistan for training. There they took training under the command of Bin-Laden.
After training they returned to country and started militant activities. Many of them have been arrested. They are now in prison.
BNP Chairperson leaving aside democracy has taken the side of the war criminals. And again Jamaat has adopted the path of armed militancy and violence.
Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu expressed these views on Tuesday evening at his Hare Road residence. He is also the second time Information Minister of Sheikh Hasina government.
He informed that it is the first agenda of the government to set up liberal democracy after totally abolishing militancy. BNP and Jamaat are destroying democracy by following undemocratic ways. They unitedly want to convert the country into a Taliban state. They want Taliban rule instead of democracy.
Inu said, “The government is sincerely doing its best so that our people can leave in peace and happiness. We cannot allow our Bangladesh blood stained like Pakistan.”
“So our government has made its second agenda making the country free from militancy and complete the trial of the war criminals thereby make the country free of the stigma of war crimes,” he said.
In response to a question, he said whether our country will follow armed militancy or will follow the path of democratic social orders for prosperity? There is no middle path of these two alternatives.
Information Minister said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia after leaving the club of democracy has enlisted her name in the ‘club of militancy and war criminals’. But we will want that she leaves the war criminals and come to democratic club. If she does so we will welcome her.
If she sincerely desires so or has a will to do that then we will welcome her sit for a meaningful dialogue for holding an election with the participation of all parties. In that election the party will run the country whome the people vote for.
Inu told that Khaleda Zia does not want the welfare of the country. Had she or her party loved the country then they would not have called non-stop shut down and blockades and killed people by throwing cocktails and patrol bombs.
She would not have increased the sufferings of the people. She could come to the parliament and would have spoken about the plight of the people and try to solve. But she did not come to the parliament.
But they only talked about election. They did’t think about the people and even did not tell about the people. Again their foreign advisers try to keep them within the circle of election. Even BNP is not trying to come out of that circle.
Felling in that vicious circle BNP committed their greatest blunder by not participating in the just concluded election. They have been defeated to the tactics of Awami League. Frustrations have loomed large within their party rank and files. Serious criticism is going on now.
The Minister told that we are advising their advisers and think -tanks so that they give advice to BNP to leave the militants and war criminals and walk towards the path of democracy.
Our straight talk is that Khaleda Zia must leave the war criminals and then come for dialogue. But it appears that Khaleda Zia has mysteriously had gone away far from dialogue and election.
But we for the sake of democracy and keeping the constitution in force we followed the path of election. So, any country, had India did not support us we did not listen to them. Though, India is our cordial friend of liberation war.
About the friendly relation with India the Minister told that India did not give us any pre-election concessions so that we got any extra advantages for the election or help in forming post election government. India did not solve the Teesta issue nor there anything for selling or purchasing.
About banning Jamaat Inu said that no law is required for it rather administrative order is enough. We did not require new law to ban Hizbut Tahrir. They were banned by administrative order as they did not follow the country’s law and order.
Inu said that after killing of Bangabandhu in 1975 the activities of Jamaat was intensified and it got further speed with the all out help and patronizations of Mustaque, Ershad and Khaleda Zia.
He told that the Jamaat leaders have understood that their days are numbered so they are die-heartedly trying to come up. They are trying to planning countrywide violence as their last bite.
They carried on bomb attacks and repression on the minority communities across the country to foil the election.
