BNP’s ‘no’ to Jamaat for rally

DHAKA: BNP asked Jamaat-e-Islami not to join its rally scheduled to begin in the afternoon at city’s Suhrawardy Uddyan.

The party has not allowed its ally Jamaat to join the programme this time showing excuse that ‘Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) permitted only BNP to hold the rally.’

In this connection, Jamaat leaders hold several meetings with BNP high command.

Sources from BNP termed the action a ‘primary step’ on way to expel Jamaat from the alliance said.

But persons concerned from Jamaat and its student wing Chhatra Shibir declined to talk to banglanews in this regard.
