Khaleda should seek apology: Ashraf

DHAKA: LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, also Awami League general secretary, on uesday urged Khaleda Zia to seek apology to the nation within 24 hours for her remarks over the operation conducted by joint forces in Satkhira.

“Khaleda must apologize for her derogatory remarks on the joint forces’ operation in Satkhira involving the neighboring country India,” he said.

The AL leader came up with the remarks at a press conference at the party president’s Dhanmondi political office in the afternoon.

On Monday, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed her doubts over the joint forces’ operation in Satkhira in a public rally at city’s Suhrawardy Udyan.

He also said, “One has no right to play with the country’s sovereignty, and the government will take appropriate steps in this regard.”
