DHAKA: The verdict of major general Manzur killing case will be pronounced at the first additional judge court set up adjacent to Dhaka Central Jail on February 10.
Additional district and session judge Hosne Ara Akter on Wednesday fixed the date after concluding the arguments of state prosecutors.
Earlier in the morning, former President HM Ershad, also key accused in Maj Gen Manzur killing case, appeared before the court.
The special envoy of the Prime Minister along with his brother GM Quader arrived here by a car carrying national flag at around 11:05am.
The other accused are: Maj (retd) Kazi Emdadul Haque, Lt Col (retd) Mostafa Kamaluddin Bhuiyan, Maj Gen (Retd) Abdul Latif and Lt Col (Retd) Shamsur Rahman Shamser.
Amongst them Maj (retd) Kazi Emdadul Haque, Lt Col (retd) Mostafa Kamaluddin Bhuiyan, also appeared before the court.
On November 24 last, state prosecutors started placing their arguments in the case. Later, the court fixed January 22 for placing rest of the state arguments.
Manzur was killed at Chittagong Cantonment on June 1, 1981. Around 14 years after the killing, his elder brother Abul Mansur Ahmed filed the murder case with Panchlaish Police Station on February 28, 1995.
Manzur’s family filed a case with the Panchalish thana in Chittagong in 1995 and the Criminal Investigation Department submitted the charge sheet afterwards.
