Bail pleas for Mir Nasir denied

CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday denied bail pleas to BNP Chairperson’s advisor Mir Nasiruddin, central organizing secretary Golam Akbar Khandaker along with seven BNP leaders.

Chittagong Metropolitan Court acting session Judge Abdur Rashid passed the order after a hearing on bail petition placed before his court in a case of subversive activism near Chatteshwary intersection in the city during blockade program by 18-party alliance.

Lawyer of accused BNP leaders confirmed the matter to banglanews. He said they would place bail petition to the High Court as the city court denied the bail petition.

On November 27, 2013, Chakbazar Thana Sub-Inspector Shiben Biswas field a case accusing 67 activists of BNP-Jammat as pickets set fire in an auto-rickshaw during BNP led 18-party’s blockade program, leaving two people burnt.
