CHITTAGONG: Police arrested a Rokon (full-member) of port city unit Jamaat-e-Islami from in front of a mazar in Chalkbazar area early Thursday.

The detainee is Abdul Hannan, 40, also Ameer of Chalkbazar thana unit Jamaat-e-Islami.

Bakalia thana officer-in-charge Mohammad Mohsin told banglanews that acting on tip off, a team of police took position adjacent to the mazar and arrested Hannan when he arrived there at 1:30am.

OC said Abdul Hannan was fugitive accused in three cases for attacking police, vandalizing vehicles and sabotage.
