DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday categorically said none would go unpunished those are involved in attacks on minorities in Malopara and elsewhere in the country.
The premier, also ruling Awami League president, was addressing a rally at Avaynagar in Jessore, the much-talked-about place where BNP-Jamaat men attacked minorities for their participation on the January 5 polls.
She said, “BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia had created extreme violence across the country in the name of political movement.”
Sheikh Hasina criticized Khaleda Zia for her birthday celebration on August 15, the day of assassination of Hasina’s family including father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Referring her previous government’s success, she said, “When Awami League assumes power country’s economic conditions including agricultural sector are very well.”
She told her audience: “BNP wanted to disrupt educational activities by hartal, blockade and torching the institutions while we are trying to improve the education scenario.”
The PM further said, “Awami League government exceeded the 10,000 megawatt power milestone and it will supply electricity to every family of the country, even by solar panel if necessary.”
Hasina slamed Khaleda Zia’s remarks on Gopalganj district and said Khaleda dislike the district as Bangabandhu was born and buried in Gopalganj and for her heartiest love to Pakistan.
The premier also alleged BNP-Jamaat patronizing terrorism in the country which they did after 2001 elections by patronizing JMB and others outlaw organizations.
Hasina urged people to live in peace with communal harmony.
She firmly said the judgment of war criminals is continuing and it will be continued.
