Govt to decentralize power, says Muhtih

DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Wednesday said the main objective of the incumbent government is to decentralize power for ensuring rule of law.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the assertion courtesy call on International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) leaders at his secretariat office in the noon.

Muhith said he would try to bring seven district towns of seven divisions under the next national budget which they (district administration) will implement.

He also said in comparison to many other countries, the area of districts and number of people in them of our country is larger.

Muhith added that there should be 64 governments in 64 districts in this regard.

IBFB president Hafizur Rahman was also present on the occasion.
