CHITTAGONG: Police detained 22 Jamaat-Shibir men from Chunati area under Lohagara Upazila of the district for their alleged involvement in attacking ruling Awami League lawmaker Nadvi.

Sources said that police in a nightlong drive held them from the area.

Lohagara Thana Officer-in-Charge Shahjahan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on Friday evening, Jamaat-Shibir activists attacked Awami League Member of Parliament Dr Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi in a Mahfil in Shah Manjil area in the upazila at around 7:30pm.
