DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami deferred their Monday’s hartal to Thursday for the sake of Saraswati Puja and smooth movement of Ijtema devotees.

The disclosure came from a statement signed by party’s acting secretary general Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Saturday evening.

On Friday evening, Jamaat-e-Islami called countrywide daylong hartal for Monday protesting the death penalty to its chief Motiur Rahman Nizami in the much-talked-about 10-truck arms haul case.
