Country’s democracy on crisis: BNP

DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah on Saturday said democracy of the country is under profound crisis as the ruling party is autocratic.

“The government will remain in power such way and people will prevent conspiracy by ousting the government through united efforts,” he said.

The senior leader came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after paying floral wreath at the grave of Late President Ziaur Rahman marking the 7th founding anniversary day of Jatiyatabadi Trinamul Dal.

Regarding the upcoming upazila polls, he said the ruling parties would not manage to revive in the local government polls as the people rejected them.

Hannan Shah also criticized ministers for their making remarks over joining the upazila polls and boycotting the 10th general polls.
