GAZIPUR: BNP standing committee members Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and Barrister Moudud Ahmed and chairperson’s adviser Khandaker Mahbub Hossain released on bail from Kashimpur jail on Tuesday in two phases.
Kashimpur central jail (Part-2) jailer Mujibur Rahman and part-1 jailer Abdul Kuddus confirmed the matters to banglanews.
Rafiqul and Mahbub were freed from jail around 11:30am from Kashimpur central jail (Part-2) while Moudud at 12:40pm from Part-1.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organizations welcomed them at jail gate.
Earlier on Sunday, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld a High Court order that granted bail to five BNP leaders including Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed.
On January 21, a High Court bench of Justice Nizamul Haque and Justice Mohammad Jahangir Hossian granted bails for three months to five BNP leaders on separate appeals.
On the other hand, Chamber Judge, on Monday, rejected state appeal seeking cancelation of bail for Moudud Ahmed in a case filed the Anti Corruption Commission.
