DHAKA: Most of the Standing Committee leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) were not seen in the movement. Actually, they are the beneficiaries of political gains.

“If the leaders do not come on streets, people will not come,” opined Engineer Kabir from Dhaka.

He also commented that politics should not be a tool of money making.

According to him, BNP has failed to create mass movement because most of their issues did not go with people’s interest.

But, he agreed that BNP took a good decision to boycott the January 5 national polls.
