Former Awami League lawmaker from Jhalkathi Barrister M Shahjahan Omar has been sued with Rajapur Thana under explosive act.

Rajapur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Islmail Hossain confirmed the matter to the media. 

Advocate Talukder Abul Kalam Azad, president of Rajapur Upazila BNP filed the case Friday (Nov 22) night accusing 150 people including Barrister Shahjahan Omar and 52 leaders and workers of Awami League, OC said.

The plaintiff alleged that Shahjahan Omar and the other accused persons damaged the BNP Rajapur thana unit office, hurled bombs and finally set the office on fire on December 30, 2023.

Earlier on November 21, olice arrested Shahjahan Omar in connection with a case filed with Kathalia thana on the charge of damaging and setting fire to the BNP’s Kathalia upazila office.
