COX’S BAZAR: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said the country is progressed in every sector, including sports, when Awami League assumes power.

The premier, also ruling Awami League, came up with the observation while addressing a public rally after inauguration of newly constructed Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium and Sports Complex here in the afternoon.

She said, “We fought for independence so that we always carry the cognition of liberation war into us and perform our duty for the sake of the country’s development.”

The PM inaugurated the stadium at 3:30pm and earlier she opened Cox’s Bazar International University.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder and Deputy Minister Arif Khan Joy MP and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan were among others present on the occasion.
