RAJSHAHI: Detective Branch of police held president of Rajshahi city unit Chhatra Shibir, the student unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, from Shiroil lbus stand area on Tuesday night.

The detainee is Anisur Rahman Biswas.

Shibir’s Assistant publicity secretary Jamal Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

A source of detective police said that during the drive at 11:00pm, police also held another person along with the Shibir president. But his identity could not be known immediately.

Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi metropolitan police Tanvir Haider Chowdhury told banglanews that he yet to inform about the detention of Shibir president.
