SAVAR: Election Commission (EC) withdrew nine presiding officers appointed for second phase of fourth upazila parishad polls, for their alleged connection with Jamaat from Savar on Wednesday afternoon.

Assistant Returning Officer of Savar upazila M Nazim Uddin, also upazila elections officer, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

EC revoked them as Awami League-backed candidate Firoz Kabir complained against them in the afternoon for their alleged connection with Jamaat-e-Islami, he added.
