Voting postponed in 154 centres

DHAKA: The voting was postponed in 154 voting centres across the country due to violence in the second phase of fourth upazila polls on Thursday.  

Of the centres, the highest numbers were 117 in Noakhali Sadar, 11 in Barisal Sadar, eight in Faridganj of Chandpur district, three in Sonaimuri, two in Feni, Bakshibazar of Jamalpur, Laksham of Comilla and Savar and each in Taras of Sirajganj, Manoharganj, Fakirhat of Bagherhat, Melandah, Balaganj of Sylhet and Keraniganj of Dhaka.

Acting secretary of election commission Sirajul Islam came up with the disclosure in a press conference at EC secretariat on Thursday afternoon.
