LONDON: BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman is pressuring British politicians to intervene in the internal affairs of Bangladesh and take steps against the Awami League government.

Some of his anti-government campaign has come to light. But the rest is hidden from the public eye.

As part of the anti-government lobbying, the elder son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia visited the British Parliament on Tuesday, banglanews has learnt.

The camera of a banglanews reader captured Tarique talking to BNP leaders at the entrance of British Parliament.

Though no top leaders of Britain BNP unit are visible in the photos, a source disclosed that Tarique visited British parliament to campaign against the Bangladesh government.

Tarique met a British MP to complain against the Bangladesh government and urge him to take immediate steps against the Sheikh Hasina government, said the source.

The source added that Tarique has ordered all units of BNP in Britain to lobby with their respective MPs. They have also been instructed to stage protests and demonstrations outside Parliament, office of British Prime Minister and the Commonwealth office.

On the other hand, in an interview with British politician, Tarique accompanied those who are unfamiliar in the local community boycotting top local BNP leaders. Rumours are doing the round in Bangladeshi community. Who are the people who accompanied Tarique in lobbying with British politicians? What is their political identity? Are they Jamaat patronized lobbyists? Did Tarique not trust top leaders? These questions are now swirlinging in the community.
