DHAKA: Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, also Joint General Secretary of ruling Awami League, claimed that Jamaat is mother of BNP.

The lawmaker, as chief guest, was addressing a programme on anti-Jamaat and militancy, organized by ‘Prajanma Ekattor’ at the National Press Club on Wednesday.

He also said Jamaat is Bangladeshi agent of terrorist organization al-Qaeda and BNP is their disciple.

The AL leader also claimed that BNP is the agent of Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the minister added.

Quamrul added that the BNP was formed with the company of Jamaat so they can’t be detached from each other.

Quamrul also said that BNP is patron of militancy in the country.

Everyone is committed to root out the militancy from the country except BNP and Jamaat, he added.

On the other hand, he admitted the kidnapping of militants from police van as a failure of the government.

Later, he applauded the law enforcement agencies as they played a vital role in keeping the law-and-order under control.

He also criticized the demonstration of BNP and he also termed the protest of the party as destructive. Everyone should come forward to take action against the anarchy of BNP, he added.
