MUNSHIGANJ: A gang of miscreants shot and chopped a Juba League, the youth front of the ruling Awami League, leader in Al-Amin Bazar area under Sreenagar upazila of the district on Thursday night.

The injured was identified as M Shahin Mia, President of Baghra union Juba League and resident of the area.

Local sources said that a gang of armed miscreants attacked on him in the area around 9:00pm while he was returning home by a passenger bus. The miscreants shot and chopped him with lethal weapons, leaving him injured critically.

However, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by the locals.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Sreenagar Police Station Shawkat Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
