COX’S BAZAR: President M Abdul Hamid is now staying at Cox’s Bazar on a two-day visit.

The President made a special tour by helicopter to St Martin’s, the coral island of Teknaf around 12:00 noon on Sunday.

After visiting the coral island, he went to Inani Beach under Ukhia Thana of the district at 3:30pm where he is likely to spend the night at Inani Resort.

The President is scheduled to visit Buddhist community and temples to strengthen communal harmony in Ramu area in the morning of the following day.

However, Ramu, the Buddhist populated area, Buddhist monasteries are decorated in a festive look on the occasion.

Security in the district has been beefed up with Police, Special Security Force (SSF), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Army personnel.

He is scheduled to return Dhaka after the visit on Monday afternoon.

Protocol Officer of the President Sheikh Rasel Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
