DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said government was trying to keep prices of daily necessary goods reasonable.

Market monitoring cell is in this connection, she added.

The premier came up with the assertion in response to a supplementary question from Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary at Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday.

PM added there now people can buy 10 kilo rice by one day’s income.

Besides, Sheikh Hasina informed the house that her government undertook a master plan for the development of agricultural sector worth Tk 58,000 crore.

She said they undertook the plan to ensure food security, remove poverty and to improve the living standard in 14 coastal districts of the southern region of the country.
