DHAKA: Regarding the seven murder in Narayanganj, Ruling Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Thursday said the responsible would be put on the dock and punished.

“Disappearance is very tragic. Law enforcers are investigating into the matter. The responsible will be put on the dock and punished,” he said.

The LGRD minister was talking to journalists after a meeting of the ruling party’s parliamentary board at Ganabhaban, the official resident of prime minister, in the evening.

Regarding the involvement of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials in the abduction and killings, the spokesperson for the party said, “The charge-sheet will show who have been made accused. The court will find who are guilty and who are innocent. We will have to wait until then.”

He said, “The incumbent government has investigated every incident, lodged cases against responsible and executed verdicts delivered by courts.”

Syed Ashraful also observed that rule of law meant identifying the criminal, press charges and executing court’s verdict. “This government has maintained its role in line with the law,” he said.
