JOYPURHAT: The half day hartal, called by district Chhatra Dal and Juba Dal, is underway in the district town on Thursday demanding immidiate release of 12 activists.

Leaders and activists  of BNP brought out a procession in support of hartal around 8:30am on main roads of the town.

Meanwhile, no vehicles were seen to ply on road. Beside, all shops remained shut.

Joypurhat Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdur Rashid Sarkar told banglanews, “ Additional law enforcers were deployed at the key points of the district town to avert any untoward situation.”

Earlier, the two organizations of BNP called the hartal in a press release at around 6:00pm Wednesday.
